To carry out the high voltage design calculations and liaison with the DNO (distribution network operator) to ensure all embedded generation requirements were met in terms of connecting onto and protecting their electrical network.
Due to the long distances involved between the asynchronous wind turbines and the point of connection the voltage was transformed to high voltage at the wind turbine then back to low voltage at the customers end.
To provide power by transformation of the voltage from low to high voltage between the asynchronous wind turbine and the customers end is a simple solution that results in reduced cable sizes, and reduced losses which over a significant distance resulted in significant cost savings.
