Halliday Meecham Architects appointed RWA as their M&E Consultant to carry out the detailed design of the services in connection with the refurbishment of the Petroleum Laboratories at Salford University.

To refurbish the existing laboratory space whilst maintaining live services to the adjacent laboratory areas within the building. The existing laboratory space was a double height space, and the refurbishment works included the provision of a new floor within the space to provide additional classroom/laboratory space.
RWA provided detailed design drawings and specifications for the M&E services which included new supply and extract ventilation systems, fume extract, heating &cooling, upgrade of the building management system, LED lighting and bottled gas services.
The laboratory space now provides an efficient and comfortable environment to work in, whilst the usage of LED lighting and an upgrade of the building management system provides an energy efficient solution.
