Energy

Under EU Directive 2002/91/EC on the Energy Performance of Buildings, all buildings, when constructed, sold or rented, will be required to have an EPC.

Robert Whetham Associates can provide a dedicated team of Low Carbon Consultants and Energy Assessors who can help and advise you on all areas of your energy efficiency and performance compliancy – from low carbon to renewable technologies.

As we are accredited Low Carbon Consultants, we can provide EPC or Energy Performance Certificates and Display Energy Certificates. Contact us today for more information and to book an assessment by one of our qualified consultants.

Why Do I Need An Energy Performance Certificate?

At one time ‘going green’ was seen as a non-essential luxury, but today there is more pressure than ever for us to minimise the negative impact we have on our environment. As we attempt to satisfy the ever-growing demand to reduce our carbon emissions, prospective tenants and buyers are turning to the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

The certificate provides ‘A’ to ‘G’ ratings for the building, with ‘A’ being the most energy efficient and ‘G’ being the least, with the average up to now being ‘D’. The most energy-efficient properties are generally those with the lowest running costs, so unsurprisingly prospective buyers and tenants deem them the most attractive.

What Are Low Carbon Consultants?

Low Carbon Consultants’ skills cover design for energy efficiency and conservation, low carbon and renewable technologies and passive design. They can also provide the information needed to manage the building and ensure that it continues to perform to its optimum level.

Members of the Low Carbon Consultants Register are professionals with demonstrated competence to deliver buildings that exceed minimum standards of energy efficient design and operation and also to confirm compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations.

Why Use Robert Whetham Associates?

Robert Whetham Associates are fully registered Low Carbon Consultants. Friendly and down to earth, we provide straightforward advice on how you can improve your property.

Registered Low Carbon Consultants have the expertise and qualifications to provide services relating to Part L. This new register – developed by industry body CIBSE and supported by the Carbon Trust – trains and examines professionals in the construction industry to design and operate to Part L standards and beyond.

Low Carbon Consultants use robust and auditable checking methods to ensure compliance under Part L and beyond, covering all five criteria in the approved documents, not just the national calculation method in isolation.
